It makes sense doesn’t it?

Gorgeous Vegan shoes - what does it mean you wonder?

Just to give you an idea vegan shoes are created using sustainable and recycled materials.

Sustainable materials include cork, canvas, linen, wood, cotton rope all of which are sourced from ecological suppliers.

Recycled television film industrial waste is made into ultra suede material. This ultra-sued is colorfast, light weight, and superior to animal skins.

Why alternative materials instead of leather?

An estimated 225 chemicals are used in leather production, chemicals linked to nervous system disorders, cancer rates, asthma and other illnesses.

Leather production requires 20% more energy to producte than synthetics.

Over a million animals are factory farmed and destroyed per year for leather products in the US alone.

The livestock industry is responsible for nearly 64% of ammonia emissions in the atmosphere = acid rain and acidification of the ecosystem and overall accounts for 70% of the Amazon rainforest destruction.

Now, I’m not Vegan and I come from a family with a farming background and am a little bit of a fence sitter on the issue of Veganism.  However, I think it is important not to put the blinkers on because of terminology that we may or may not agree with.  Using recycled materials just makes sense.

Makes a little bit of sense doesn’t it?
